Building Effective Teams

Effective teams don’t happen by accident. In fact, the most successful teams have clear shared visions and well-developed communication skills. They understand how the team works together and what they contribute to the team individually. To be a great team, you must first understand each other. 
By using the DISC profiling tool, members of the team can gain insights about their own behaviours and communication preferences as well as the preferences of others in their team. Through this new level of understanding, teams can collaborate to new higher levels. 
Clients learn how to get the best out of their team whilst being recognised and valued for the skills and passions they bring themselves. The DISC and coaching feedback arms clients with a greater understanding of how they work when processing information, interacting with others and completing tasks. 
Once a client has this knowledge they are able to manage themselves and others better. Overall, this shared understanding of themselves and others deepens the working relationship and enhances both the individual and the team performance. 

How I can help…

I’ve helped team leaders, managers, CEOs and groups with the challenge of ‘Team Performance’.  Whether you work in a small team, a department, function, division or a whole organisation, I can help you become more effective at what you do.  There’s no ‘one way’ to do this - I tailor a mixture of services around your organisation and your unique requirements.

Sometimes I work with a whole team, running workshops to help them clarify their objectives and ways of working.  I might help them to develop more effective behaviours and ways of working - with each other and with clients.  I might design and deliver training for leaders.  I offer coaching and mentoring where 1-1 support is required.  I’m trained and accredited to use the DISC psychometric assessment with employees, leaders and whole teams.

One-to-one Coaching

Coaching combined with DISC can be a very powerful way to help individuals in your team to identify issues and take meaningful action.

I offer one-to-one coaching in a couple of ways

  • A coaching package of x6 one-to-one sessions, starting with the DISC psychometric

  • A highly effective 90 minute 'follow up' to workshops or after an individual receives their DISC report

I can help you see your challenges from new angles and generate new solutions. Sessions provide a balance of support and challenge that the client needs to make progress.

Leadership Coaching

Suitable for anyone from highly experienced leaders to aspiring managers, leadership coaching enables you to review your leadership style and consider how you can maximise your performance, taking you from where you are now to where you want to be.

Sessions can be designed to suit any level of experience, budgets and the time available!

Team Workshops

Bespoke workshops are designed to help teams develop their communication skills, collaboration and over team effectiveness. With these workshops, the emphasis is on activity and engagement. This can work in many different ways, here are some typical set ups:

Example set-up:

  • Each client that will be attending the workshop will have an individual DISC assessment.

  • Individually, each attendee will have a 60 minute scheduled 1:1 to discuss their results and their individual role within the wider team.

  • Following the individual one-to-one session, a workshop (or series of workshops depending on the team’s needs) will take place where we will work to bring everyone onto the same page, improving communication, collaboration, and team effectiveness. We can unlock real value for your organisation and for individuals in the team. Using a range of tools, exercises and a group DISC report, we can explore how the team works as a whole. We will focus on both the dynamics of the team and the personal impacts of each person, understanding what is supporting or hindering performance.
