Motivation vs. Discipline
Can you relate to this?
Your latest goal is written down on the top of a clean crisp page. You’ve planned out when and how you’re going to achieve it, and you’ve thought long and hard about why you want this goal. You’re feeling motivated and ready to commit.
The first few days, maybe weeks are brilliant. You might not be seeing instant results but you know deep down that with consistency, this new action or new mindset will bear many fruits. Your hard graft will be worth it. And you, will be the new you.
And then…
After some time, your motivation starts to dwindle. You skip a few actions and although you had the best intention (you really did), it hasn’t panned out as you first hoped.
So, what happened?
Let me ask you a question. You can be honest, no one needs to hear your answer.
Do you rely on feeling motivated?
Sometimes we need to pause for reflection and become more aware of what we rely on when trying to to see our goals through to fruition.
So here’s another question…
What would things have looked like if you relied on self-discipline?
